I Thought I’d Remember Who I Bought What For

Plan Your Gifts Without the Spreadsheet →

At first, I didn’t think I needed a gift planner.

I mean, how hard could it be?

A few people. A few gifts. I’d remember.

Then the list got longer.

One gift was already bought. Another was still sitting in my cart. I had an idea for someone but couldn’t remember where I saw it. I also started wondering if I had already bought something similar last year.

That’s when my brain stopped being a very good system.

The problem wasn’t finding gift ideas.

It was remembering what I’d already done.

Who was finished?

Who still needed something?

How much had I spent?

Which idea was for which person?

And where did I put that thing I bought two weeks ago?

So I made a small Gift Planner.

Nothing fancy.

Just a place to keep the names, gift ideas, budget, and whether something has actually been bought yet.

That’s really all I wanted.

I didn’t need an app trying to recommend gifts to me.

I didn’t need shopping alerts, wish lists, or some giant holiday dashboard.

I just wanted to get all those little details out of my head.

Because once the list gets long enough, your brain becomes a pretty bad spreadsheet.

And honestly, gift shopping is a lot more relaxing when you can look at one page and know where you stand.

Some people are done.

Some still need ideas.

Some gifts are already hidden in a closet somewhere.

At least now I know which is which.

That was the whole point.

Not to make gift giving more complicated.

Just to make it a little easier to remember what I’m doing.
