Why this one stays simple

Built for faces, not a full editing project.

01

One oval per face

Mark one person or a whole group. Every oval can be moved, resized, changed, or removed before download.

02

Natural control, without clutter

Choose a smooth blur or visible pixels, then tune strength, edge softness, and the amount of space covered around the face.

03

A genuinely separate tool

Need to paint over plates, addresses, or arbitrary details instead? The existing Mosaic & Blur Brush is still available.

Straight answers

Face-blurring questions.

Can a blurred face ever be recovered?

A heavy, flattened blur removes substantial detail, but weak blur and small pixel blocks may still leave clues. Use strong settings, keep the soft edge modest, add enough extra coverage, and check the downloaded image before sharing it.

Does the tool find faces automatically?

Some browsers include on-device face detection, and the Find faces for me button appears there. Manual ovals remain the reliable method and let you decide exactly who should be hidden. Always check the result yourself.

Does the downloaded file keep GPS or camera information?

No. The browser creates a new pixel-only JPG or PNG, so the original EXIF metadata is not copied into the download. The source file on your device is never changed.

Why only one photo at a time?

Face privacy deserves a careful visual check. One large preview makes missed faces and weak coverage easier to spot. For batch painting across several photos, use the Mosaic & Blur Brush.

Is the photo uploaded?

No. The page reads and redraws the photo locally in your browser. HandyPebble cannot see the people, the marked regions, or the downloaded result.
