Measured before you cut

Take the measured design with you.

Outlines only: no 45° bevel, blade-width or material-thickness compensation. Verify scale in your cutting software and test on scrap material.

A clean border starts with the right measurements

  1. Measure the frame. Enter the outer mat size and check the space inside the frame.
  2. Set the visible opening. Leave enough material on every side and enough artwork behind the edges.
  3. Check the files. Use the separate top and lower SVGs for a double mat. Print the actual-size PDF at 100%, not Fit.

Before you cut

What does “wider bottom” do?

It moves the opening upward so the bottom border is wider than the top. Center opening resets the offsets and bottom weight. Equal borders adjusts opening height to match the left and right border width.

Does the PDF fit on Letter paper?

The actual-size PDF has one full-size page per mat, so it may need a large-format printer. The separate dimension check fits Letter paper with a scaled preview and a 100 mm ruler. Save as PDF is also available in your browser’s print dialog.

Can these files run my cutter?

No machine instructions are generated. SVGs contain an outer rectangle and one closed opening, in millimeters. The PDF keeps those outlines at actual size. Your blade, bevel, material and cutting software may require compensation. Check with your supplier and make a physical sample.
