Words to get you started

This replaces only the selected message. You can edit it or undo the change.

Style each text area

Use dark text on pale areas and light text on dark areas. Effects are optional. Long text fits down automatically; shorten it if the editor warns that it does not fit.

Quick front styling

Long greetings fit down automatically. Shorten the wording if it still does not fit.

Card size & printing

No bleed is safest for home printing. Bleed extends the background only. Some printers cannot print all crop marks.

PNG, JPG, and Card PDF save the front. The paper-size PDF includes both sides when Folded card is selected. Print at 100% or Actual size; turn off Fit to page. Test on plain paper first. Duplex flip settings vary by printer.

Save & reset

Saves words, design, and settings on this device. Photos stay in this tab only; choose them again after reopening.

How to make your card

  1. Choose one of the 20 designs. Your edited wording stays when you change designs.
  2. Add your greeting and a short front message. Use the suggested wording as a starting point, then make it personal. Six photo designs let you add a JPG, PNG, or WebP and adjust its fit and position.
  3. Open Inside & back to write a longer note. Use the preview tabs to review every side.
  4. Choose a finished size and Letter or A4 paper. Download PNG for the front, Card PDF for a true-size front, or the paper-size PDF for printing.

What to write in a sympathy card

A short, sincere note is enough. Try “Thinking of you” or “With heartfelt sympathy.” Avoid assuming someone’s beliefs or telling them how they should feel. One clearly labeled faith-inspired design is available.

Printing tips

Print at Actual size or 100%, with browser headers and footers off. Check your printer’s margins on plain paper before using card stock. Folded cards support 5 × 7 inches and U.S. A2 (4¼ × 5½ inches); 4 × 6 inches is flat only. A 5 × 7 inch card fits a U.S. A7 envelope.

Frequently asked questions

What does each download include?

PNG, JPG, and Card PDF contain the front. The Letter or A4 PDF places the card on the selected paper. For a folded card it includes two sheets: outside with back and front, then inside with the personal message on the right.

How do I print a folded card?

Select Folded card and choose your printer paper. Print both PDF pages at 100%. Test the duplex flip direction on plain paper; it differs by printer. Trim to the card edges and fold down the center. Fold guides are included.

Can I change the fonts and colors?

Yes. Open Style each text area to change its font, size, weight, alignment, color, or optional effect. Restore this text style returns only that area to its default. Hide this text area removes an optional caption without deleting its wording.

Are photos required?

No. Fourteen designs use artwork only. Six photo tributes let you add your own photograph; choose Fit whole photo to avoid cropping, or Fill photo area to fill the frame.

Can I save my card and finish later?

Save a local draft to keep your text, design, and settings on this device. Photos are not saved. Add them again after reopening. Clearing browser data can remove a local draft.

Will my text or photos be uploaded?

No. Editing and exporting happen in your browser. The page downloads its fonts and artwork from HandyPebble. Opening the website still makes normal website requests.

What if my message is too long?

Text fits down within its designed area. If it still does not fit, the editor shows a warning and blocks the download. Shorten the front message or put the longer note inside.

Is this suitable for professional printing?

Files use exact card dimensions and 300-pixel-per-inch raster output in sRGB. Full-card painted backgrounds have about 200–220 source pixels per inch at 5 × 7 inches; the 300-pixel-per-inch download does not add original image detail. Text is rendered at the output resolution. Optional ⅛-inch background bleed and crop marks are available. These files are not CMYK press-certified; ask your print shop about its requirements.
