How-to guide

Cooking Shouldn’t Require This Much Math

Try the Cooking Converter

Sometimes the hardest part of cooking isn’t the cooking.

It’s the math.

You find a recipe that looks great, decide tonight is the night you’re finally going to cook something decent, and then you see this:

1 1/2 cups flour
3 tablespoons butter
375°F

And suddenly dinner feels less like dinner and more like a surprise math quiz.

That’s why I made this Cooking Converter.

It helps convert the usual kitchen chaos: cups, grams, ounces, tablespoons, teaspoons, milliliters, and temperatures.

If you find a European recipe written entirely in grams and Celsius, you can convert it into something that feels a little more familiar.

If the recipe serves 4 but somehow 6 people are showing up for dinner, you can scale the whole recipe without doing mental gymnastics next to a hot stove.

No calculator.

No trying to figure out what 2/3 × 1.5 is.

And hopefully no accidentally making enough mashed potatoes for eleven people.

It can also convert cups to grams for different ingredients, because one cup of flour and one cup of honey are definitely not the same thing. The kitchen, thankfully, has accepted this fact.

There’s no account to create and nothing to install.

Just open it in your browser, make the conversion, and get back to cooking.

Nothing fancy.

But when one hand is covered in flour and the other is holding your phone, simple is pretty useful.
