Windows x64 · Optional preview · Version 0.3.1

A little energy between screens.

Try Portal, Ripple, and Particle Jump when your pointer crosses to another PC.

Portal is the default: an energy opening gathers at the departing edge, then unfolds around the arrival point. Choose Subtle, Standard, or Vivid, or turn the effects off.

Download the Windows preview

This is a test build, not the stable update. Windows 10 native previews and automated tests have passed. Physical two-PC handover, Windows 11, and clicking or typing through the effects in other apps have not been fully verified.

Try it without another PC

  1. Exit before updating

Exit PebblePaste from its system tray menu, then run the normal setup wizard. The update retains paired PCs and saved settings by default. Do not copy your app database to another PC.

  2. Open the local preview

Go to Settings → Screen crossing effects. Choose a style and intensity, then select Preview effect. The preview does not connect a peer or move your pointer.

  3. Try the stronger setting

Select Portal and Vivid for a more energetic game-like effect. Windows animation, high-contrast, and battery-saver preferences can pause effects, including the preview.

  4. Keep real control testing separate

For mouse sharing, use this preview on both Windows PCs and pair them on a private network. The effect is visual feedback, not confirmation that the other PC accepted control. The existing input feature is still based on the primary display.

A few important limits

This is a Windows-only preview. Compatibility with the stable Intel Mac client and older clients has not been verified. Keep the stable version for a mixed Windows/Mac setup.

Automated checks cover clipboard, file transport, input recovery, and saved settings, but do not replace physical two-PC testing. Native tests include 1,000 effect start/cancel cycles and ten minutes with no idle drawing or animation timer callbacks.

If an effect fails, only the effects are disabled. Turn effects Off to test the existing mouse workflow without decoration. Do not rely on this preview for an unattended or essential remote-control session.
