Corrections work with detail that is already in the file. They cannot recover pure-white highlights or pure-black shadows with no recorded detail.

How to use Photo Exposure Fixer

  1. Choose a starting correction. Auto Balance analyzes brightness and the lightest and darkest tones. Other presets emphasize brightening, darkening, shadows, highlights, or contrast. Each preset adapts to the current photo.
  2. Fine-tune the light. Exposure compensation changes light in stops; +1 doubles linear-light values. Highlights and Shadows target opposite ends of the tonal range. Sliders add to the selected correction; choose Manual for adjustments without a preset.
  3. Balance the color. Temperature moves between cool and warm. Tint balances green and magenta. Saturation affects all colors; Vibrance emphasizes less-saturated areas. Clarity adds restrained local contrast.
  4. Check and download. Compare before and after, then inspect the histogram. The graph summarizes brightness, not a RAW recovery guarantee. Download PNG or JPG at the source dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

Can this recover a completely white sky?

No. When the file contains no recorded highlight detail, darkening it only produces a darker flat area. A better-exposed original or RAW editor may be necessary.

Does Auto Balance use AI?

No. It uses a brightness histogram and deterministic tone adjustments locally in your browser. It is a starting point, not a judgment about the intended mood.

Why do the sliders start at zero with a correction applied?

The preset is calculated from the photo. Sliders are additional adjustments on top of it. Choose Manual to remove the preset, or Reset adjustments to restore the selected starting point.

Where are my photos processed?

On this device, inside your browser. Photos are not uploaded, and no account is required. Opening the website still makes ordinary page and asset requests.

Will my original files change?

No. Downloads are new copies. Photos, masks, and adjustments stay in this page session only; download your work before closing it.

Which images can I open?

JPG, PNG, and WebP, up to 15 MB and 16 megapixels per photo, with no side over 10,000 pixels. HEIC, RAW files, and animated images are not supported.

Does the download keep its resolution?

Yes. PNG and JPG downloads keep the oriented source width and height. PNG keeps transparency; JPG places transparency on white. Downloads are newly encoded pixels, not copies of the original metadata.

Can I undo an adjustment?

Undo and Redo keep the last 30 changes for each photo while this page stays open. Reset adjustments returns to the selected starting look. Selections and photos are not saved after you close the page.
